Why Bettors Love The WINX Horse

| August 17, 2018

Why the bookies love Winx

WINX has slowly made her name as one of the world’s best racehorses, with an unbeaten streak lasting 25 wins. The consistent capabilities of WINX haveled to the horse becoming a keen favourite for many bettors, and even when she isn’t winning the trials, she is certainly leading the way to win during the real race. Here, we’re taking a closer look at why bettors love WINX and what they can expectfrom the thoroughbred as time goes on.

It Starts with the Gambling Laws In Australia

WINX has continually impressed bettors and horse racing fans from across the world, but with an abundance of rules and regulations having been put in place when it comes to iGaming in Australia, it is becoming harder for homegrown Aussie sports fans to really interact with this love. In 2001, for example, the Interactive Gambling Act came into play which prohibited any form of explicit advertising from offshore betting sites. In order to fight against this, the Interactive Gambling Amendment Bill was bought to Parliament in 2016, which was later enacted in order to help clarify which services were actually prohibited.

This was then passed later the same year and resulted in the Australian government outlawing all unlicensed online casinos, sportsbooks and poker sites across the country. Then, the government proceeded to outlaw online casinos and poker sites (both regulated and unregulated) across the country, resulting in a true blanket ban. However, sports fans rejoiced as licensed online sportsbooks remained untouched by the new rules and regulations, allowing them to further cash in on some of WINX’s latest wins.

WINX’s Capabilities

WINX has been unbeatable for a whopping three years and is slowly becoming known as one of the world’s best racehorse. This Champion Australian Thoroughbred’s record currently sits at 29 wins, 3 seconds and 0 thirds from 35 starts and has been dubbed as a ‘supermare’ due to her impressive stats. Trained by Chris Waller, the daughter of the stallion Street Cry (winner of the 2002 Dubai World Cup, 2002 Stephen Foster Handicap and runner-upin the 2002 Whitney Handicap) and popular broodmare Vegas Showgirl, WINX is showing just how capable she is of batting away the competition.

The only downside to WINX’s racing capability is her bounciness in the stalls, something that hasn’t impeded her performance just yetbut could slow her down slightly when it comes to the real race. This is something that jockey Hugh Bowman notedbut said was “not out of character” and that “she felt as good as she looked”.

What Does The Future Hold For WINX?

There was no such thing as a slow start for this mare, having won 5 major races when she was first started in 2015 and it appears that this thoroughbred is set to keep on winning. WINX’s trainer has already stated that if there are any signs of the horse beginning to waiver from her current exceptional performance as one of the best horses in the world, then they will begin to pull her out of races – but this doesn’t appear to be something that is set to occur anytime soon. There are a few ways that WINX can improve her performance, however, as she has never won over 10 furlongs, has never won in a foreign country and equally has never won on dirt. And while her father passed away as a result of complications from existing neurological issues at the young age of 16, WINX isn’t showing any signs of slowing down at the age of 7, and is believed to have a bright racing future ahead.
