All Too Hard, what a horse!

| August 18, 2013

AllTooHard620x349CHAMPION 3YO All Too Hard sent out a global warning to his rivals planning to contest the prestigious Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes (1600m) at Royal Ascot on June 18 with a swashbuckling win in the All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick.

All Too Hard was chasing his fourth Group 1 win in his past five starts (he was 2nd in the Cox Plate at the other) and hadn’t raced since being withdrawn on the morning on the Australian Guineas as the $1.20 favourite eight-weeks ago.

Despite the setback, the Team Hawkes’ trained galloper was at his brilliant best chasing down the leaders to score a spirited win and confirm his place as one of the world’s elite thoroughbreds.

Only last week Vinery announced that All Too Hard would be joining their star-studded stallion line-up at their Scone HQ at a fee of $66,000 (inc GST).

“What a horse!,” Vinery Stud general manager Peter Orton said.

“We always thought he was the real deal and he certainly proved it today. He is just the most magnificent looking animal and a really classy racehorse.

“We didn’t need to be here today, he’s got nothing to prove but you don’t duck and dive from these things, it was just great to see him get his return and yes, we will definitely be on our way to England,” Orton added.
