  ABOUT US:

Thoroughbred Village is Australia's premier online horse racing community. It's aim is to significantly enhance communication and information exchange between all members of the horse racing community through the use of state-of-the-art internet technology.

Our mission is summarized as three simple objectives;

(i) to provide an enjoyable and entertaining environment to foster communication and interaction between all sections of the horse racing community.

(ii) to harness the knowledge and experience of individuals for the benefit of all, and

(iii) to showcase the Australian thoroughbred racehorse and preserve it's many treasures.

The acceptance of the internet in many households and business offices heralds a new era in thoroughbred horse racing. Never before has such a wealth of knowledge and information been available at one's disposal, and at the click of a mouse button. On the internet, one can trace pedigrees as far back as the very beginnings of the thoroughbred more than three centuries ago, and as wide as the wave of Northern Dancer blood that now permeates all corners of the globe. Perhaps unexpectedly though, the internet has spawned a new voice held silent for so long; the voice of the people! Horse racing enthusiasts, who have long sat in solitude amongst stud books and journals in their own personal libraries, have taken to internet forums, message boards and chat rooms with remarkable fervour. They (we) participate with such enthusiasm that even diehard breeders are questioning their own level of knowledge and expertise. This bringing together of minds and talents can only benefit the horse racing industry in general. Thoroughbred Village recognizes the critical role of the internet in the future of horse racing and how it can increase the involvement and enjoyment of all sections of the racing community.

A primary objective of Thoroughbred Village has always been to serve the local community. As founder and CEO stated recently "There are a number of international racing communities on the web, some of which have become quite successful. Sadly, few have catered specifically for horse racing and breeding in Australia and New Zealand. We hope that people will come to our village and contribute, with the knowledge that what they say will be enjoyed and appreciated by local people. Ultimately, we hope to be able to help local people achieve their dreams."

International visitors are more than welcome to become active members of our community. We want to learn from you as well as share with you our own unique perspective. Horse racing has become a very small world, and the internet has exacerbated this even further with up-to-the-minute online news sites and sports media. Through these incredible gateways of connectivity, we can watch international events as if they were happening in our very own cities. This of course provides new avenues through which sites like ours can showcase to the world the Australian and New Zealand thoroughbred. This is not a responsibility we take lightly. We will maintain an exemplary standard in what we do and in what we ask of our contributors, and also to do our best to provide a service that internationally is second to none.

For business interests, the development of a local web village allows for the first time the opportunity to advertise to a local rather than international demographic, yielding far greater returns on the investment dollar. Although our pricing is reasonable, the target audience is expected to be large and undergoing exponential growth. Communities have a way of building, and with time and good management, Thoroughbred Village will become an outstanding and essential partner to our industry. The company is forging strategic relationships with many industry leaders to become entrenched in Australasian racing networks. The company is an entirely independent organization with head office located in Melbourne, Australia, and subsidiary agents positioned in primary horse racing centres across Australia and New Zealand.

On behalf of the management team, Welcome to our Village!
