Jamie Kah rides 5 winners at Caulfield
Jockey Jamie Kah was excited to get back to Melbourne with a full book of plum rides at Caulfield on Saturday. Fresh from successful campaigns in Sydney and Adelaide, highlighted by her last stride win on Cascadian in the G1-Doncaster Mile, the South Australian jockey ended up bagging five winners, a personal record in Australian racing’s heartland. Her 5 winners at Caulfield were;
- R1 Generation (winner) $1.95 C Maher & D Eustace
- R2 Excelman (winner) $2.20 Richard Laming
- R4 Pintoff (winner) $2.80 Richard Cully
- R6 Streetcar Stranger (winner) $2.90 D R Jolly
- R9 Ayrton (winner) $1.60 M Price & M Kent Jnr
Her only other ride for the day was on favourite Horrifying ($3.70), who was unplaced.
Jamie’s had a good week with her partner Clayton Douglas winning the Warrnambool Grand Annual Steeplechase on Gold Medals.
As well as being a top jockey, Jamie Kah is also an excellent racing analyst providing trainers with intelligent assessments of the performances of their horses. Her rides are always well supported by punters, who play the best Australian casino sites when they’re overseas.
It was the first time she has ridden five winners in Melbourne, having won 4 races on Cox Plate Day last year. Her 5 winners were all from different stables, showing how popular she is and the reason for why she is now extremely difficult to book. While most of them dominant, the five winners were ridden in different ways:
- Generation sat outside the leader and charged away on the turn to record a dominant victory under hands and heels riding from Kah. The Snitzel colt from G3 winner Fontiton was a class above and has a bright future.
- Excelman was another dominant winner for Kah, this time over the 2000m distance. The gelding sat behind the pace, moved up on the turn and quickly put 4 lengths on the field.
- Pintoff was held together outside the leader Alburq for most of the race, slowly getting the upper hand and punched out by Kah to hold off several fast-finishers.
- Streetcar Stranger sat poised on the rail behind the 3 leaders and drove through the inside gap that opened on the turn into the straight. He won by about ¾ length.
- Ayrton maintained his unbeaten record with an easy win under hands and heels riding. The 3YO gelding by Iffraaj sat in 4th position, quickly collared the tearaway leader and eased down on the line. He goes to Queensland where he has been installed a $4 favourite for the Stradbroke Hcp.
Kah is another female game changer in Australian racing following in the footsteps of Michelle Payne who won The Melbourne Cup on Prince of Penzance. In the UK this year, Rachael Blackmore became the first female jockey to ride the winner of the Grand National. Jamie Kah was the first female jockey to ride a G1-winner for the Godolphin stable, a huge force in global racing. Trainer James Cummings recognizing her dominance of Melbourne racing had no hesitation in booking her for the ride.
Kah moved to Melbourne in January 2019 and has taken all before her. Last season Kah rode 35 winners to finish eighth in the Melbourne jockey’s premiership behind Craig Williams. However, this season Kah has taken an unassailable lead with 86 winners and will undoubtedly exceed a century of winners before season end. International gamblers betting on high roller online casino sites are getting on board.
In the meantime, Kah has an appointment on the 12th June at Eagle Farm Queensland where she is confirmed to ride Ayrton in the Stradbroke, providing she can make the weight.
